My Wacky Thermometer

If you've been on the blog today, you may have noticed my thermometer go sky high...it read the high temp today as 72 degrees. I can assure you it DID NOT get that warm here today. Unfortunately a portion of the sensor was in the sun just a little bit, so I had to fix it and make sure the whole sensor is in the shade. Everything should be good with it from now on. Just thought i'd let y'all know that you aren't losing your eyesight lol...it's just my thermometer.

Welcome To My Weather Blog!

Hi there! Welcome to my little weather blog! My name is Matthew Pierce, I live in the Walnut Grove and Altoona area of Etowah County, in Northeast Alabama. I have been a weather geek since the Blizzard of '93. You could imagine how a ten year old was fascinated by such a spectacle as that. Growing up here in Alabama, I had never seen that much snow in my life! So that was it, I decided then and there that my profession would be in meteorology. Just a couple of months after the blizzard, I had my mom to buy me my first weather book. It was a book written by Spencer Christian, who used to do the weather on ABC's Good Morning America all those many years ago. After reading that, my fascination for weather just kept growing to the point where I am today...I can't go a single day now without reading weather blogs, looking at weather maps, reading the latest computer models, taking a gander at the radar and most importantly, going outside and studying the clouds. Weather is truly one of the major joys in my life. I hope you have as much fun reading this blog as I have posting on it.
